Day 5 of P90X

I skipped don't judge me... I could fill this page up with excuses but I will spare you my ramblings!!!

But I should take this time to mention how important nutrition is during this time! I have always been a health nut! I eat organic and a mostly vegetarian diet! My problem is I eat too much! I eat when I am bored. So my goal is to reduce the amount I am eating.

Like the physical aspect of the program the nutrition part is also divided into 3 phases! The first is the fat shredder which consists of a high protein diet. As you become more "fit" and "athletic" you slowly add more carbohydrates into your diet and reduce the amount of protein. This is so you can maintain the amount of energy needed to get through the workouts and your day!!

Tomorrow I continue with legs and back! Wish me LUCK!!

Day 4: Yoga!!

So yesterday I did yoga and lets just say I have a new respect for it! I have done yoga before but it has always been gentle yoga... this was far from gentle!! Lets just say it was 90 minutes long and I was sweating 10 minutes in!!!

I might have to say though I am considering finding a yoga studio and joining! I really LOVED it!!! I cant wait to do it again... its just difficult because it is 90 minutes long so I am really going to have to plan when I do it!

Here is me doing upward dog next to my dog... yes I am that cheesy!

Day 3: Arms and Shoulders!

I actually really enjoy working my arms and shoulders. I feel that when my arms are sore I have done something right... But we will see after tomorrow because I may not even be able to lift my arms up to wash my hair in the morning after a workout like that!!!

The workout consisted of an hour of just bicep/shoulder/tricep workouts all of which are shaking now. Hopefully this helps all my wobbly bits to not be sooo wobbly!!

This time my strapping husband joined me on my crazy path and now he is slamming down a protein shake (aka chalky slush).

ALSO- I will not be posting before pictures or at least not until the six pack surfaces =)
*Tomorrow: YOGA!!!

Day 2: Plyometrics!!!

It cant get harder then this workout... This is the X of P90X like Tony said its the mother of all the workouts!!

There was one point where I couldn't tell if it was sweat or tears because both must have been pouring down my face! The workout consisted of jumping and then jumping some more!!
Plyometrics means jumping here are some examples:

Now excuse while I go ice my body down...

Day 1 of the X-treme workout!

WOW!!! Will I ever be sore tomorrow! I am following the "classic" version of this workout. Day one was an hour of just chest and back... This consisted of TONS of push ups and pull ups in forms I never even heard of!!!! I learned that I cannot do one diamond push up and only about 3 military style push ups! Yes I admit I am a wimp!

The video takes it slow beginning with a warm up! In fact the warm up is about the first ten minutes of the video!
While doing the push ups I had to do them on my knees (hopefully as the program continues that will change!) Also while doing pull ups and chin ups I had to place my foot on a chair to assist me! By the time I was done my arms were soooo shaky! This is definitely NOT one of those 15 minute a day work out routines this is an hour each day of intense physical activity!! Not to mention some days adds on a ab workout and today was that day!!!

AB Ripper X:

AHH... this 15 minute workout is not your friend and seemed to last FOREVER!!!! I could not believe it!! This workout I believe will be added every other day in addition to that days workout! And let me tell you it is hard to work out with a 10 month old puppy running around thinking you are on the ground to play with her...
This is all I could see:

Starting the EXTREME workout!

Okay I admit it... I LOVE infomercials! I cant help it!! They suck me in... But recently I saw a particular one that caught my eye! P90X! Its an extreme workout regime that claims in 90 days to sculpt your body into something that resembles a roman statue!
After finding the program on craigslist (gotta love Craig) brand new for half the price I am ready to go!!!

Meet Tony my instructor for the next 90 days:

*The Challenge- dedicate the next 90 days to this work out program
*My goal- Get "ripped" and lose hopefully at least 15 pounds to get to the "ideal" weight for my height but I would really like to lose 23... sooo we will see about that!

This is an intense workout program and I am planning on blogging each day about my experience!! I thought by blogging I could keep myself accountable and stick to it! Especially since you all will know when I skip!!! So join me in this epic journey to find out whether or not this program is worth your time!!!!

Meet our new addition!

Well we have had her for awhile... About 2 months! I never thought having a puppy would be such work! I feel as if I am describing a child when I am talking about her!!

I talk about her eating habits, potting training, teething, wether or not she has slept through the night... OHH and dogs teeth fall out did you know this? Well I do now, had to google it but now I know!!

And the chewing.... oooohhhhh... the chewing! I knew she would chew and to be honest I was expecting it be much worse than this but of all the things why did she have to get my glasses...
Its okay though cause when I look at her face... well just look she makes you smile =)
